Gordon

Arrived in hairdressing by chance approximately 38 years ago it is a great experience man and boy. my enjoyments in life are my wife Lorna, my daughters Lanice and Lauren, my dogs Jack and Levi, and seeing a client leave Élan with great hair. Simple things really, like my philosophy do what you enjoy and enjoy what you do.

Lanice

I am the creative director of the salon and have worked full time in the salon for 8 years. All my training has taken place in salon ar at the Sassoon academy and hair up through Patrick Cameron. I have a real passion for working with long hair and have came 2nd in Scottish Championships for bridal hair. I have also been north east young hairdresser of the year twice.

Hi I'm Anne-Marie, working my way up from a assistant stylist position 5 years ago I have now been a fully qualified stylist for 3 and a half years. I've been on professional courses on colouring and creative cutting of which colouring is a passion of mine. I have also attended the Alan Austin Smith "Be Fantastic" business seminar.

Lauren

I have been part of the fantastic team at élan since October 2008. Since joining I have completed a NVQ level 3 in business and administration, Fantastic hairdresser salon business programme, Ambassador Programme and AP+ course. I love being part of the daily running of the business and also the big decisions. I have started to focus my skills as a colour technician and have attended Aveda Systems and solution course and Innovative colour Course at the Aveda institute in London. Going on these courses has really benefited me as it has given me the confidence to try new things on my guests in the salon giving them personal advice to a colour that suits there style highlighting their best features.

Dale

I started by doing a get ready for work course in October 2009 at Banff and Buchan college. I was introduced by work placement to Élan and they were impressed by my willingness to learn and friendly personality. This was what got me the full time position. Shortly after starting I began a Modern Apprenticeship in hairdressing which I am making some fantastic progress in. I enjoy working at reception as it gives me the chance to build a good rapport withy existing clients. In the evening I train to improve my cutting and colouring skills which get assessed by a tutor who visits the salon regularly.

Janine
